The new law does not state anything about selling magazines, only possessing them.

That is not correct. The law prohibits "transfer" of magazines that meet the definitions including in the law. CRS 18--302(a) states that " ... a person who sells, transfers or possesses a large capacity magazine commits a Class 2 misdemeanor". The later exception for "out of state transferee" only applies to magazine manufacturers or gun dealers.

You can sell all your magazines to people outside of Colorado if you want.

Not by a strict reading of the law, unless you are a gun dealer or a magazine manufacturer.

You could have a friend or relative in another state send you a box stuffed full of 30rd mags, and once you have them how could anyone prove that you DIDN'T have them before July 1st? Not legal, I know, but not really enforceable either, or even practical to try. Stupid, pointless law.

This thread is turning into a different topic of discussion than it started with; one hovering dangerously close to talk of actually breaking the law (even clothed in hypotheticals, it's not gonna fly here). We'll stop that line of conversation here & now or this thread will have to get closed and removed. I don't want to have to do that.
