There was a lot of fog driving from Broomfield into Boulder this AM, but it appears to be clearing up rapidly at this point, at least in my proximity.
Please leave any relevant feedback here:

If it backed up enough traffic, they will delay incoming until things get caught up. Has happened to me many times. Weather, runway closures, etc. all trickle into the system of delays.

I've always wondered about commercial backups into DIA itself from local arrivals.
I can see how it might back up the system nationally, bit it claims to have a Class III ILS system, which is capable of auto-guiding arriving aircraft right down to the concrete...intact. All the pilot has to do is manage the power and flap settings.

I wouldn't go that far. Performing an auto-land is a hell of lot more work than a "standard" approach and landing. Most people have probably never been on an aircraft that has been auto-landed because it's such a pain in the ass we avoid it when necessary. Separation is also a huge issue. When the weather goes down, the separation increases. Denver Center will limit the amount of arrivals allowed into their sectors.

I'm at work about 10 miles west of DIA. Still overcast but the fog is lifting.

Still waiting in DRO, no info whatsoever as to what's going on at DIA. It is United though, so it could be anything....

I work just south of DIA, fog has cleared, but if they backed people up because of it (it's been foggy all morning long) then you could be in for a long wait. Same thing happened to me coming from Vegas a couple weeks ago, a thunderstorm held be back 3+ hours.
