Trust on form 1

I've never done a form 1, let a lone on a trust. Anyone have an example on it?

Anybody create a trust after UBGC took effect? I already have a lower (haven't created the trust yet). Do I need to go to an FFL and everybody on the trust do a BGC when I transfer the lower from me to the trust?
I might not be asking a logical question or even making sense but still researching the specifics. thanks for humoring me.

Met with a lawyer today. I'm his first Trust/SBR possible client since UBGC came in to play. He's going to call the ATF and inquire. It was a free consultation. He also gave me the number of his Class III/FFL guy to call. I'm in no rush.

Yes you will need to do a UBC when you transfer the item from one owner to the other (e.g. you personally to the trust). If the item is already an NFA item you will also need to pay $200 to the man and wait a few months.

When a trust or non-human entity takes ownership of the firearm then they need to do a Acquisition Statement to give to the FFL. The FFL uses the acquisition statement to take it off their books and they will do a real BGC on whomever is actually taking possession of the firearm (and anyone in the trust if they are following the letter of the law - but I have yet to see that happen). In many cases the guy working the counter wont know what the hell an acquisition statement is and will tell you to fill out the 4473 using your personal details - that is wrong and can get you (and the FFL) into hot water if push ever came to shove. Read the 4473 and look at the instructions for Question 1 section A.
