    Default PC Drivers

I'm not a PC whiz. Been getting the hard stop blue screed of death. Been through updating the drivers. Looks like the Adobe Flash driver is the problem. All the download sites point back to the abode site for downloads, so a separate DL is not an option.

What words in place of Adobe Flash?

    TIA

Adobe Flash is software that adds functionality to a browser, not a driver.

And even a bad Flash install wouldn't BSOD a computer. Check the system error logs.

...and next time it happens, grab the error code and there should be a message toward the bottom left of what blew chunks (like bsodmeasap.sys)

Also, how much RAM does this machine have & what browser are you running?

Thanks for the info. The reason I mentioned Adobe Flash is that this started when I updated to the latest version. Uninstalled it the BSOD stopped. Reinstalled and it started again. I'll take a look at the error log next time it happens.

I was getting a BSOD with an HP printer load. Had to uninstall it too.

The only browser on the machine is Firefox.

This PC probably has 1g of processing speed. There isn't much loaded onto it. It is a stand alone register and plays music. That's about it.

No, not your processor.. the RAM. Memory. Are you saying you have 1gb total of RAM? This is different than your processor.

Firefox has known issues with memory leaks (as most browsers do) and over time this can cause your machine to drag. If memory is already maxed out (most consumers machines) then this sort of thing could push it over the edge. For most people a simple memory increase fixes most issues that aren't virus related. In older machines memory is generally quite inexpensive too and pretty simple to change out usually. I'm wondering if Firefox isn't causing you some issues. When is the last time you went in and cleared out all of Firefox's history and cache?

Nope. That's your storage. Try again.
