Default Any SCUBA nerds in here?

I completed the PADI e-learning and the plan was to do the pool work here in Denver and open water dives in Hawaii to cert. Well we ran out of time and ended up doing two Discovery Dives in Kona Hawaii last week instead which kicked ass! Props to Kona Honu Divers could not have had a better experience......

Used to dive a lot. Now,, not so much. Have a kid, own a business.... yada yada time and $$ gets away from ya. Did my certifacation dives at Kingfisher pond at Chatfield. Absolute piece of crap body of water, but it was close and I got it done. Was cheaper then going to blue hole, and much more convienent.
Diving is amazing. Saw lots of cool stuff and hope to get back under water some day.

I'm going for my rescue diver in Sept if things hold up -- but it depends on if I can get my wife to do 3 days of diving (I'm already advanced and just need to do my water work for Rescue, she is 3/4 through the way her advanced and needs to do a day of diving to finish that up first).

If your diving in Kona try Jacks Dive Locker -- really good people.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Yea its looking like Aurora Reservoir for me........... I'm excited to get that part done & over also going to invest in a GoPro. We booked with another dive shop in Kona but we got a call that the boat broke down and they had to cancel so Kona Honu Divers was the second option not knowing anything about it I was very happy, the crew was great and extremely knowledgeable.

Always wanted to get into SCUBA since I was a kid watching The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, finally got certified after I turned 30 and loved it. Just need to find time to get back into it.

Grew up on the ocean and have been diving for about 30 years. Don't think much about it any more since I am land locked here in Colorado. Have dived all along the Florida coast as well as Hawaii, Japan, and many small Pacific islands. Diving on WWII ship wrecks in the pacific has been something I will never forget. If you ever get the chance you have to do it.

Yep haven't been for awhile either. Right out of high school I became interested in scuba diving. Worked my way up through my PADI instructor certification with A1 scuba and taught for awhile but burnt out quickly teaching the same basic open water certification over and over. Decided to go to school to get my degree in marine technology. Immediately was hired on and went to work for Oceaneering International in Morgan City Lousiana. Worked offshore in the gulf and all over the world for almost ten years. Made a bunch of $$$, learned a lot, was quite the adventure but like most commercial divers there comes a time when domething inside you just snaps and you look up towards the surface and just hope you make it back one more time. Ended up buying buying a piece of property a long way from the ocean! Still "sport" dive but like I said haven't been in awhile.

Me at 23 years old ha ha!
