question about reloading

hey guys, just joined. i recently moved to denver and have a friend in the military stationed in cali do my reloading (.223 and .45). unfortunately he is getting shipped to hawaii for 3 years and can't do it anymore. i was wondering if you knew of people who reload in the denver area and what kind of prices to expect. thanks for any and all help!

Wow, that's a good one. To be honest, I don't know anyone who reloads their stuff for resale. Have you considered getting into reloading yourself?

i don't mean reload their own, i mean is there a place i can take my brass and have it reloaded for a reasonable fee. i thought about getting into reloading myself but my fiance isn't thrilled about doing something somewhat dangerous in the house. plus, how much does it cost to get started and how dangerous is it really? i appreciate the help tho

The only folks I'm aware of who sell reloads are those who sell at Gun Shows - for a substantial price I might add.

As far as the danger - reloading itself is actually very safe. The real danger is in not following basic safety steps and when you are at the range and fire these rounds bad things can happen.

This doesn't occur if you pay attention to detail and follow basic safety steps identified in every reloading manual.

As far as how much it costs to get set up - hmm. It depends on what you're buying. RCBS and other reloading equipment manufacturers sell basic kits that you can start with for around $175 (i.e. http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/prod...ducts_id=54944). I strongly recommend additional equipment as well.

Once you have the equipment (to include the dies for the caliber(s) you want to reload), then all you need from then on is brass, primers, powder, bullets, and time (NEVER RUSH YOUR RELOADING PROCESS).

It's cheaper than having someone else do it and a lot cheaper than purchasing new facotry ammo (can be more accurate too). My best friend and I find it kinda fun too.

its a good idea, im just not sure if itll fly with her. it took me long enough to talk her into having guns around!

ive heard rumor denver bullets may do it? anyone know if this is true?

sorry for the double post, but another question would be is there anyone in the denver area that would reload my brass for me for a little bit of a fee, plus the cost of supplies obviously. you see, im in grad school and don't really have the money to buy new rounds, and with the fiance not keen on me reloading myself (not to mention the initial start up cost) io just feel like its my best option to have someone do it even if it costs me a little bit

I doubt that you'll find any Joeblow willing to reload your brass, but if you take your brass to Dads Wholesale, they'll give you $ XXX per pound for it in credit towards their reloads. Call first too make sure someone is there.

I used to buy their reloads all the time until I started shooting USPSA and buying reloads got too expensive, so I reload myself, now I just buy components from them. Being they are in unincorp. Adams county, you will save $$$ with the 4.8ish sales tax also.

As for safty, reloading is safer than driving to work, with reloading you only have to watch yourself, driving you have idiots all around you.

You need to word your questions better. Why don't you just ask what companies in the denver area sell reloads.

You are still asking individuals to sell you their reloads after you give them your brass.

I mean seriously dude stop asking people blatantly to do illegal things. either you are a FED trying to catch people or you are not paying attention to what I have told you for over a week now.

Selling reloads without a proper license from the ATF is illegal.

Go buy some factory rounds, go to the gunshow and buy reloads from companies who have a license, or buy your own reloading equipment and a book and do it yourself.

Its not that hard.

the stuff in red...you are soliciting someone to do illegal actions. This could even be illegal on your own part. This needs to stop.
