Til your house burns down caused by improper water heater install and the insurance company sees the permit was pulled but not inspected. Then they give you the big.
op: if you go the store brand route only go with GE from Home Depot. The kenmore, sears, state, whirlpool is the biggest pile of shit water heater there is. 70% of the water heater trouble calls are to clean the screen and or replace the pilot assembly on those.
