Default Don't believe the Fed's economic data

A good explanation of how phony the government economic data is, and how they change how it is calculated. This also helps to explain how what normal people see is quite different than the gov reports.

I believe it as much as I believe Chinese report on its own human right record.

FWIW, I don't think anybody did/does. I think the value here is explaining how they change the data and how they calculate it to serve political ends.

It's a measure of the civility in this country that no ones seems to fear constantly pissing off the people who own lots of guns.

It's all in how you present the statistics. Someone can make numbers work in any way they want if they know what they're doing. I'm sure it's not only this .gov that's been doing it. I'm sure economic numbers have been manipulated for decades.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.
