    Default .308 in a g3

OK I bought some .308 on links from the fun show and I was wondering if I should clean off all the cosmoline that is on these? I heard that oiled bullets are sometimes loaded in these guns. So I was just wondering what I should do? It not a lot but its coated.

Also, what can I do with these links?

    personally, I'd clean 'em.

the G3 should have a fluted chamber and may be able to cycle 'em, but you have to de-link what you have, so might as well clean 'em up at the same time.

the links? well, it's as good of an excuse as any to get a belt fed weapon

I'm assuming you bought 7.62x51 on links? I've never seen .308 on links...and unlike most other rounds, the NATO rating is actually LOWER pressure specs than the commercial .308 'equivalent'

Yeah they're lake city 7.62mm. It just seemed easier to write it out that way.

The rifle should feed them even if they are a bit rough. Cleaning doesn't have to be much I don't suppose, and it may reduce the risk of a stoppage.

    Good score for you!
