Yep... UCMJ still has to respect the right to due process... innocent until proven guilty. Not right, but it's the way it is. This guy should have been hanged a while ago.

The only thing that infuriates me more than Maj Hassan's acts, is the fact that this administration is flat out refusing to call it an act of terror, when it clearly is. .

IIRC the trial was delayed for a long time over his refusal to shave his beard as required by the military but forbidden under Islam. No judge would force him to shave because god forbid we do or say anything against a Muslim.

We also needed to wait until BO was re-elected, wait that couldn't happen in the US

This 'trial' is going to end before FBHO gets out of office, I wouldn't be surprised to see a pardon issued and this animal deported to Yemen and treated to a heroes welcome there.

Even though dickhead wanted to plead "Guilty," he is not allowed to.
Therefore, we waste money on a trial and give dickhead a forum.

guilty; not guilty to an offense as charged, but guilty

or, not guilty. A plea of guilty may not be received

as to an offense for which the death penalty may be

adjudged by the court-martial.

Fair enough, although, my point is that now that he's AT the trial, he's admitted to the shooting. So what more do we need? :P

In a trial like this they have to do everything possible to allow him to prove his innocence - to the point that he was not even allowed to enter a plea, they pled 'Not Guilty' for him automatically. They want to push the death penalty here and they want an airtight case where there can be absolutley no question in case the nut job changes his mind and doesnt want to die afterall.
