Since we're talking about it, has anyone else noticed that when you see a commercial for a movie where something happens to the President, you find yourself thinking, "Pshhhh, who cares? We get a new one all the time anyway."

Having watched both the white house down crapfests, I actually rooted for the bad guys in the one with jaimee foxx. Actually both movies are so full of WTF and fail that I wont watch them ever again.

For the record I'm glad they found and fixed President Bush's artery. Every time I think of President Bush I think of the video's I've watched of him greeting the returning troops.
I think of the mountain bike ride he does every year with returning and disabled troops. I used to not like him on grounds that he is a professional politician and I think that is the lowest form of humanity, but since he left office he seems like a pretty decent guy.

Nah, he'd be out playing golf or taking a vacation, so destroying the white house wouldn't get him.

That made me chuckle. Then my chuckling turned into a moment of sadness because it is probably true and I am paying for it.

Yes, President Bush does nice things with the troops.

Sometimes I wonder what his motivations are though, is he doing it out of kindness, out of guilt for putting those troops in a position to get killed or maimed, I like to think he is doing it out of the kindness in his heart.

I wonder what President Bush thinks now about the Iraq civil war, 3 sects of the same religion murdering each other and anyone else. If saddam were still in power there wouldn't be a civil war now but we'd still be putting up with saddam and his shit.

I ask myself that same question.

Are you a veteran yourself? You tend to have the utmost respect for those currently serving if you yourself have served. Explains why Clinton wasn't very good for the military (reduced our numbers and budget), and why Obama isn't a friend to the military.
