    Default H&K Semi-Automatic HK SP5k (MP5K) and HK SC5SD (MP5SD) -Coming to the US Civilian Market !!!

    Check it: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/08/04/hk/

From what I can tell it looks as though they'll have no excuse not to do it, but who knows WHEN they'll start importing.

    HK still hates you though

It'd certainly be cool, but I'm definitely not holding my breath.

Man, if only that stupid nfa SBR nonsense would just go away.

The SP5SD won't be available to non-SOTs, even if they let them import it. Imported NFA items have been restricted to SOT dealers since 1968.

It looks like they're planning to bring in the SP5k as a pistol, like they did the old SP89, so at least it would be available as a regular handgun.

Can someone shed a quick light on whether its legal to take a pistol and convert it into a full on rifle? Not talking about an SBR, but rather meeting min barrel length of 16" (via a pinned, faux silencer) and overall length of 26"?

Yes, you can take something originally manufactured as a pistol, and add barrel and stock to make it a rifle. You cannot take something that was originally manufactured as a rifle and make it a pistol. Even if the result is something that could have been originally legally manufactured as a pistol.

HK loathes you. Kind of exciting though if you can get one in.

The absolute worst part about doing that to a k gun is the barrel extension that you would need, I'll have to measure mine, but I think it needs to end up being 18"+ to meet the OAL.

Looks really stupid, and makes it bigger than an AR.

    I honestly wouldn't mind a fixed or pinned-skeletal stock.

    Thx for the info everyone!
