I also had a really sweet female I had to put down about three months ago for two blown acl's. Both were rescues so I'm judging their ages were around eight. They are by far my favorite breed by far but man, right now I don't know if I can do another one. Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer. I think I'll take a look at the Rottie Rescue site....
Damn. Losing two Rotties in three months is brutal. So sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the kind words. I scooped a puppy out of the middle of 17th Ave last November after about 6 cars ran over him without stopping. Makes me wonder sometimes.... The last car that ran over him did stop and she happened to be a Vet Tech at 29th St Animal Hospital. They patched him up and saved him, he needed a home so I kept him. (Speed) Bump is a full 9 1/2 pounds and it's just him and I now. Never thought of myself as a small dog guy but he's cool and we're tight. Click image for larger version.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to put down my male a year and a half ago because of cancer. His name was Homer Simpson, because he was a lovable dufass. Nothing cures the heartache of losing one like new puppy love. My new boy has the same lovable personality, and would make the perfect therapy dog. He never can get enough attention. Just don't try to come in the house uninvited.

    Default Big Mean Rottweiler!

There's a not mean bone in this girls 100 lb body. She is however the most destructive dog I've owned and hope to never have a dog that gets as bored as easily as she does. Last summer she ate my 18'x52" above ground pool.
