    Default Reloading 357 sig

So a couple questions about reloading for it since I just got into the caliber.

Some sources have said that you can resize 40 S&W cases to 357 sig but I see its a little short. Does anyone do this?
Also what is your favorite powder for it?
Right now I have 115 gr hornady XTP boolits. Ill be shooting a sig 226.
    thanks for the input!

The 357 sig has a short neck as it is. Resizing 40 to 357 will leave little to no neck tension to hold the projectile firmly in place, and may create malfunctions. I usually find once fired brass at gunshows for about $5-$8 per hundred and never had any issues with it. As for the powder goes IIRC I think that I used Power Pistol for the 115 gr Hornady XTP.
Sorry that I couldn't be of anymore help but I can't see my notes from over 7,000 miles.

Sabot_round got it right: you don't want to resize .40S&W brass for 357 sig, it'll be too short. Neck tension is key to this cartridge, so careful selection of bullets and using 357sig brass will help.

As to powders: HS-6 is one of my favorites, Longshot is great, Power Pistol is good but a bit flashy. Lots of people like AA#9 as it fills the case nicely and they feel it helps prevent bullet setback.

It's my favorite caliber. Some of my favorite bullets for it are the Montana Gold 357 sig 125gr. Enjoy!!

I appreciate it gents! I was just trying to get some extra opinions of doing that because quite frankly, I like my Sig.
Sabot, Trashcanistan sucks, let me know if you or your guys need cigars, cookies, or anything.
