    SSD is the way to go just for the speed alone.

    I'm sure there is some software that works the same for windows but I will say the "time machine" back ups for the Mac OS is AWESOME.

    back ups at a regular interval with easy set up and seemless operation .. hell I just looked up and mine is backing up at this moment.

    It has saved my butt once when my HD randomly went wacked on my last machine and saved the macs at my office twice when the HD's died ( two different machines) feels like it takes FOREVER to restore from back up( at least when it's almost 500GB in size) but it's worth every second when ya need it.
