First of all a year ago??... 2nd TSA is not worried about your knifes at all and actually have recommended they come off the list repeatedly, its some in congress and public, airlines etc.. Also, if you have a problem at a checkpoint, ask for a supervisor, if you do not like that answer ask for the manager. Literally the last thing they want is to show up in the news for doing something there not supposed to do. Every airport a a TSA customer service rep.. Specifically for these type issues. There is nothing in their procedures that allows TSA to confinscate anything.. when something is its federal or local LE..

    Sorry for your bad luck.

Sent from my teepee using smoke signals.
The way i understand it, it is against airport policy to have a prohibited item past the check point and against the law to have it on the plane.

That's just flat out wrong. Exempting butter knives or not, there are plenty of items that would be illegal to bring into the secure area of the airport or even up to the security checkpoint. Wandering around the unsecured side of the terminal? That's a different story.

ETA: Just saw your last post. Either way, you don't have to get on the plane to be breaking the law as you asserted in the quote.

No.. its all against the law.. checkpoint or sterile area.. there is law behind the way TSA operates.. All of which is haggled by congress.. TSA presently is not in the business of recommending anything that is not absolutley nessessary and is attemting to do only what is nessessary. The public has exactly the right control of TSA but TSA is not what the public needs to get fucking contol of really. Almost every thing the airport does as far as security is concerned is regulated by TSA but most of the regulations are in place or kept in place by congress.. there is so much concerning TSA that merely just politics and until we realize that politicians are using TSA as a shield things will not change.. I would like everyone to look into Pre check, Real Time Threat Assessment, DOD pre-check, known crew member, and many others.. These are inititives that are driven by TSA and the better part of congress that lead to the reduction of TSA..

I would not have left without my property, outside of being arrested.

Good to hear cofi. I hope they get it all back. Not letting her get it back to add back to her luggage was totally bogus and my first suspicion is someone had dollars in their eyes thinking about which pawn shops to visit on the way home.
