I couldn't agree with you more. I have zero respect for any of those over-paid "pro" athletes. Not a f***ing one of those goons are worth a nickel of the oxygen they breathe. I don't watch them, endorse them, or give 2 shits if they live, die, or go to jail. The day they actually start paying them a hard-working man's salary is the day I'll start to have any respect for them. Same goes for the Hollywierd actors.

Always amused at the people who think pro athletes of his caliber are overpaid. Have you seen the TV contracts and ticket sales the NFL makes? If anything these guys are underpaid for what they bring in. Value is decided by how much money you bring in and these guys bring in tons.

As for the actual story, it pisses me off that some liberal law is now affecting how my Broncos may perform on the field. He failed to appear in court over a wreckless driving charge and the background check alerted the police where he was when he was trying to purchase a gun. This is stupid, if they really wanted to arrest him, the Arapahoe Sheriff's Office is directly next door to where he works. They knew he was there the whole time, why now, when he tries to buy a gun is he arrested?

There is a reason "Justice" wears a blindfold.

Unfortunately that blindfold is now made of dollar bills.

Now if I am not mistaken, is not his suspension for violating the NFL Controlled Substance rules?
    Marijuana wasn't it?
So now hasn't he violated Federal law by stating he IS NOT an unlawful user/addicted to a controlled substance?
Isn't falsifying information on a 4473 punishable up to 10 years and $250,000 fine?

    Just a random thought........
There has been no confirmation on what his actual suspension is for. The rumor is that he missed a drug test while overseas visiting the soldiers and the missed test triggered an automatic suspension. But again this is all just rumors at this point. His appeal hearing is today so we may know more later.

What is your definition of overpaid? Are you a socialist who believes in wealth redistribution or do you believe in a free market capitalist system?

If you're a socialist I can see why you'd make such a ridiculous statement but if you believe in a free market you're now a full blown hypocrite. Athletes are paid based on the number of jerseys they sell and their impact on the team which keeps the stands full. As an example Peyton Manning is paid $19M a year. Since his signing the Broncos wait list for season tickets is the highest it's ever been. Broncos games are pulling in the highest TV viewership ratings they ever have and they're selling jerseys like crazy.

I'd hardly call these guys overpaid. They get paid a lot because they bring in a lot. That is a free market working exactly the way it is supposed to.

Well since this seems to be an appropriate place for this, I'll just say this explains my opinion perfectly:
"There is no news in the truth, and no truth in the news."
"The revolution will not be televised... Instead it will be filmed from multiple angles via cell phone cameras, promptly uploaded to YouTube, Tweeted about, and then shared on Facebook, pending a Wi-Fi connection."

    Question:
Does having a bench warrant make you a "fugitive from justice" (Question 11 d on ATF Form 4473) ?

That's the difference between bench warrants and arrest warrants. With a bench warrant they wait for you instead of using resources tracking you down. Maybe if he had gone to court when he was supposed to instead of flying off to Vegas to party he wouldn't have any problems. I don't care about the traffic stop, if he would have just handled it like he was supposed to. I don't like that it seems like he figured he could just blow it off because he's good at tackling people and makes more money in a year than most will in a lifetime. The failed drug tests are another matter entirely, and yes it is tests as in plural. The NFL gives you a freebie that by the CBA doesn't get announced unless you have a second violation and then you actually get suspended. So if it is for failed marijuana tests he did lie on his 4473 and should be brought up on charges for that as well.
