I enjoy sports. Unfortunately, the people that play them have no sense of true reality. Watch ESPN's 30 for 30 episode "Broke" or something like that. It gives you some insight on their mentality. One guy got his first check and went to HR because he thought someone stole money from him. "Sir, those are taxes and the government takes them". What we perceive as irresponsible may be a case of ignorance/over-catering.

Either way, I will still watch games. I'll still look forward to Bronco's games on Sunday and I'll still wear my jersey. I support the players and our team. Are you the bitch for any company who's logo you wear? No, you're just showing support.

Man you guys are wound up tight. Sports, watching sports, etc is a hobby. Much like four wheeling, recreational shooting, and fishing. Lighten up, take a deep breath and try not to have an aneurysm.

If you're a socialist I can see why you'd make such a ridiculous statement but if you believe in a free market you're now a full blown hypocrite. Athletes are paid based on the number of jerseys they sell and their impact on the team which keeps the stands full. As an example Peyton Manning is paid $19M a year. Since his signing the Broncos wait list for season tickets is the highest it's ever been. Broncos games are pulling in the highest TV viewership ratings they ever have and they're selling jerseys like crazy.

I'd hardly call these guys overpaid. They get paid a lot because they bring in a lot. That is a free market working exactly the way it is supposed to.
and they're still overpaid for what they do and what they are worth. I trade Peyton and any of the other big names in a heartbeat to have Chris Kyle, Danny Dietz, or any others that put foot to ass and went into harms way because it was their duty.

I'm happy for the pro athletes and their success. I wouldn't ask to take anything away from their paychecks, it doesn't change the fact they are valued way more than they are worth by the measure of a man.

You can still earn a wage well beyond what is logical, but it does not change the fact you are overpaid for what you do.

By your definition I'm an enabler and I don't have a single regret about it.

I own Broncos jerseys and Im a season ticket holder. I also subscribe to the NFL Sunday ticket. I have a Bronco dog collar that my dog wears on Sundays and even my 9 month old son has a Peyton Manning jersey.

I also attend professional drag racing events and own quite a bit of John Force memorabilia. I watch NASCAR and own quite a bit of Tony Stewart memorabilia.

Sports bring my family together. We enjoy the sports we watch and we have a great deal of fun watching them together. We wear garments with men and women's names on them in support of the athletes we enjoy the most because if we didn't there wouldn't be sports for us to enjoy.

There are bad apples in every sport just like there are bad apples in all facets of life. I won't quit watching sports and supporting my teams because a few idiots with more money than brain cells continue to make dumb choices.

I am not a super fan of football, baseball, basketball, or hockey but I wanted to point out that these rich athletes aren't just making millions for no reason. If you like sports, support them. If you don't, don't. I didn't know people cared that much either way. And my final $.02... Comparing sports stars' salaries to the salaries of our military personnel is pointless.

Yup. It's a very clear cut case of what markets can and can't support. If the teams couldn't support those wages, they wouldn't pay them. Cue NFL being nazis with their footage control.

They don't rush it to help him. They rush them to make it easier on them.

    You've never worked a jail, I don't think.

Having a celebrity or pro athlete in the jail SUCKS.

Same goes for cops and judges.

If they have to go anywhere in the hallway you have to lockdown saod hallways. You have to escort them. They have to be segregated...

It's more trouble than you'd think.

Someone like Miller is going to bond out no matter what. Why go through all the bullshit just to kick him out a few hours later?
