    Default photo ticket questions

so I got one of these bullshit photo stoplight tickets from aurora and I did a bit of research and they have to serve you in person for the ticket to be valid so I didn't pay it. But today my little brother came to my house after school Im not there and they made him sign a certified letter from the post office. So I was not personally served by a police officer and they made a minor sign for my mail. Where do I go from here do I go to court or do I just keep ignoring this bullshit. I think those stoplights should be illegal I was in a turning lane pulling a trailer and the light turned yellow as I entered the intersection.

If you truly entered the intersection on the yellow the photo should show it. If it is worth your time, fight it. If not pay it.

Yeah, I hate those damn things too. In fact, the route I take to work I know exactly where Denver's photo radar van sits and times. So I politely smile and tell them they are #1 as I drive by. In regard to your situation, because they sent it registered mail and someone did "sign" for it...you may be in a pickle and have to pay that one. Bottom line, those wretched things are nothing more than cash cows anyway. Funny, one day my wife and I were out and she said, "Look, photo radar ahead." I smiled and threw out my usual . She about shit a chicken. I laughed.

I drive by one about every day on Santa Fe. It would be great if a couple people would get a dozen eggs and hit the van from the Santa Fe trail. Not that I would suggest it... You could only hope the person gets out of the Van...

A minor can't sign for that, so it doesn't matter.

But according to Colorado State Statute 42-4-110.5, photo radar tickets are not valid unless it is personally served and that means physically handed to you.

According to this I am fine

Your right but it looks like the minor or a legal guardian has to go in and void it or it will be accepted. Source: http://www.justanswer.com/employment...fied-mail.html
