    Default LAR8 rebarrel options

Any one out there know about rebarreling a rock river lar8? It looks pretty straight forward...

    Then, they have this disclaimer...

I'm going to call, because I'd really like a to see a 260remmy in an autoloader that took fal mags...

It's a general liability warning. Not all 308's use the same mag, ejector etc.
When in doubt Check BP out. OR any other competent smith who has good feed back.

I was probably going to have bp do it since my smith, the goober that he is decided to move and sell his lathe. Now i have to either wait and help him get a new one, after he rebuilds his shop, or take the easy route and have BP turn a new blank for me...Or, i could just go buy a new ar10 or m1a...

Rebarreling an AR10 is a straightforward process, not much more than an AR15. When it gets interesting is when you get a short chambered blank or a plain blank with no extension on it.
Lilja, White Oak, Black Hole etc all make quality barrels that are either drop in or short chambered.
Whatever you decide to do, we will be here if ya need it!

I believe the LAR-8 has a different barrel extension than DMPS or Armalite. It has a single wide feed ramp (for FAL mags) instead of the standard dual feed ramps.

You are correct on the receiver extension being different, here's the info:

BP, have u ever mucked with one? It shouldn't be to difficult to change the threading as long as it's not metric. I'll call RRA and see what they have to say then repost...

To the best of my knowledge the actual extension is the same, it is only the nut/receiver that is different.
I have cut and threaded a couple, came apart and went back together with no SNAFU.
