Default CSPD to auction firearms - Link/Update Included

Looks like council gave approval for Colo Spgs Police to auction confiscated firearms instead of destroying them. The city manager tried to argue for not putting them back on the street (she's from Cali), but was shot down quickly by Councilmember Small. The El Paso County Sheriffs Office (EPSO) auctions theirs, so the city will follow suite. Not a huge deal, but a 'positive movement' in firearms for the Springs. I heard this on the City channel today.

If it is anything like other counties do, they will auction them off in groups to FFLs only. My local guy got some one time. Tons and tons of shotguns. Some that were basically useless, but I did get a damn near brand new winchester defender for $125 out the door.

He recently got another one for handguns and scored some really nice ruger wheelguns. He collets them but told me he could sell them for $200 bucks and still make plenty of money on them. that shows you how much they get these for.

The PDs do some research however as there was a very nice WWI 1911 that sold by itself for about $1K or so.

Anyways, it would be awesome if there was a sale to all citizens and do a background check but more than likely it will be a private FFL only kind of deal.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

Nothing as far as a timeline goes. As Sniper said, it'll only be to FFL's though. But maybe we can get one of our 'local' FFL's to go and bid for us. This is something council will actually vote on next week, so links and all should be available then. The city estimates they'll make an additional $10K in revenue.

I'd say high crap, lower quality, but there's always that 'needle in the haystack'.
