You know we have a few other threads that are the same thing. I'll work on a new picture as I am now on slide #2 that is rusting.

Yeah we do have a few threads, I may have to do a search to see what I was carrying in those threads lol.

You carry an M&Pc correct? I remember you having rust issues. I just started carrying a shield and am curious how the slide will hold up.

Is the rust an overall problem with them or because it's a CCW and gets extra moisture from the body?

I carry a Taurus 5 shot revolver in .357 mag and I have a few spots of pitting on the side of the frame that is against my body before I learned to clean it up more often. Also have a Nano 9mm, but haven't found a holster yet that works well with it and a lasermax.

Since the M&Ps use blackened stainless steel slides I would imagine that rust wouldn't be a problem.

If you wipe down a carry gun regularly and keep it oiled it's really not going to be a major rust problem (especially here in Colorado) unless you have a serious sweating problem (or the pH of your sweat is odd).

At any rate, here's my EDC piece ... a Steyr S40 carried in a leather pancake holster modified to IWB. The slide on it is not stainless and has a finish similar to a Glock Tenifer finish and I've carried it almost every day for the last 8-9 years and I have no rust.

I'm the only guy I know who rusts M&Ps. I did a good job keeping the moisture off for a few years, but I guess I got lazy this year.
