"Unfortunate" has never precluded something from existing nor hastened it's demise.

It is possible to simultaneously dream and hope for a post-racial world while acknowledging that it does not exist at this point in time. However, people naturally segregate, be it by language/dialect/occupation/economic level/nationality/race/ethnicity/skin tone/Etc. While it's certainly possible to hope for a time/place in which that does not occur, it's not going to happen in my lifetime, this century, or this millennia. Humans are part of the animal kingdom and although there are places where the species intermixes more fluently than others (for a host of reasons), the reality is that even within nearly 100% homogenous societies, there are hierarchies based on a selection process, some of which may not be palatable to you - but it's reality, ugly as it may be.

Preying on the weak may not be a wholesome virtue, but it's why the USA doesn't have Navajo as the national language, it's how the pyramids got built, and it's the reason most nations on planet earth are ruled by who they are ruled by.

You don't have to personally accept the notion that the strong take advantage of the weak. You can outright abhor that practice and proclaim the ills it has wrought on society as a whole. But it is reality and it is not going anywhere anytime soon.
