    Default Dish vs Comcast on-demand?

I know there have been several threads about cable vs Dish but I'm looking for some specific feedback about VOD on Dish vs Comcast.

We currently have Comcast and my wife uses on-demand quite a bit for recent episodes of shows; we just caught up on 'Joe Rogan Questions Everything' using on-demand.

We're looking at Dish but the Dish person at Blockbuster (went there to see the Hopper in person) said that Dish doesn't have VOD for cable network channels or HBO/Starz/Max/etc (even if you're paying for premium channels). She even said the Dish web site mentioning VOD was incorrect. They didn't have a broadband connection to the Hopper so we weren't able to verify in person.

no VOD on directv, if i want to watch something i missed i have to download it from the web. MAXGO and HBOGO offer online access (with a pc) if you have a directv account.
on-demand was cool, comcast, not so much.

Good to know; do you have any of the movie channels and if so does it work the same for them?

I think the ipad is more of a payment plan since they add $30 a month to your bill for the year if you want the ipad.

If you switch Ill be curious to know how it goes. Not a fan of Comcast, but would still have to keep them for Internet anyway.

Am I reading correctly you still need a friggen phone line for Dish? Come one guys its 2013

I work at Dish. We get free TV service. Even during orientation, the HR reps said Comcast is best for internet.

    No phone line required.

Is dish carrying Al Jazera? That's my main motivation for dropping comcast.

What, you didn't drop them when the network was named Current and was owned by Algore?
