Just to close out my portion of the thread, I called Comcast to cancel and they lowered my bill by $60 a month for 2 years (with an agreement but I'd have had one with Dish anyway). I then returned one of their DVRs and got a Tivo (first one I've ever had). I'm very happy so far and thinking of replacing their other DVR with a mini. I was surprised to see that Tivo works great with Comcast on-demand and the search is integrated with on-demand, Netflix and Amazon which is pretty cool.
