He switched from his Linksys router to something else and received his full download speed. I was having a problem with my Linksys while he was in town (3Mb down and 9Mb up) and switched it for the D-link I had lying around and immediately saw 30Mb down and 9Mb up. For the record, I had been having problems with my Linksys for I'd say the past 4 years or so, but never realized it was the problem.

If you ask for a 10yr old DVR that is true.

    "Watch Commercial-Free TV.
Hate commercials? DISH created commercial-free TV so you can save an hour each night*! Now you can instantly skip commercials in recorded primetime TV. Only DISH gives you ad-free TV with the HopperĀ®.
Feature must be enabled by customer and is subject to availability. Only available with playback of select shows.
Record up to 6 Channels at Once.
Record up to six live channels at once during primetime, including your 4 local networks and 2 channels of your choosing, and stream four recorded programs to different TVs simultaneously. That means you can watch more and miss less of your favorite programs"

Lots of fine print, so 4 recordings during primetime for certain shows on certain channels? But hey you can record 2 shows of your choosing. Check their site for more fine print.

You do realize that over 80% of the Internet is powered by Cisco right?

I work for one of the largest Telco's in the world and Cisco is the only gear we use for routers and switches. Considering our network provides 99.999% reliability I'd say the Cisco gear does a pretty good job.

Well I made the call. Tomorrow morning Dish is coming out to hook me up. Comcast wasn't interested in extending me any breaks so they will be gone once Dish guy leaves.

Ill be saving a little over 50 bucks a month and now ill have DVR and HD on all 3 TVs instead of one. Will be keeping Comcast for Internet but I'm going to bump down to slower speed and see what happens.

Ill report back with update. Did a fair bit of research on the Hopper and I'm kinda excited.

You do realize we were discussing personal wireless routers don't you? Again Linksys/Cisco cable modems and routers suck ass.

Based on the number of forum members I'm finding out work for Dish, I think we need to schedule some time with the grill before summer ends

Looking forward to your report back; I still haven't made the change but I plan on it by the end of the week.
