Watched Lone Wolf Mc Quade (again), LEO side arms being revolvers seems out-of-place compared to today's LEOs. But in 1983 revolvers were still being used by most LEOs. I don't know of any LEOs that still use them as Service Side Arms.
Anyone know of any agency still using revolvers today?

Saw a lightrail police officer (can't remember what they are called, but not regular police) wearing a revolver a while back.
I have two LE that are customers at the shop and we talk guns when time permits and both carry S&W J-Frames as back ups. One has a M&P as main carry and the other wears a Glock, both in .40.

I think several departments allow officers to keep using revolvers if they were issued to them. Certain EPSO guys can apply to use a 38 or 357 revolver if they work undercover, but IDK if they have ever been approved.
Three or four years ago I recall an older Denver PD officer in uniform out at the airport with a wheel gun. I asked her about it and she said that it was permitted but only for the old timers who had been carrying one for years.
My first issued in uniform was a Model 15 4" and when I went into plain clothes switched to a Model 19 2.5" I was not allowed to purchase either gun when we transitioned to semi-autos. I missed my wheel guns so much that I eventually purchased one of each. Still fun to shoot and without a doubt I shoot them better than my semi-autos. The accuracy difference is not so much to make up for the increased capacity and faster reloads, so I don't think I will ever carry my wheel guns again.

It would not surprise me to learn of revolvers still being used in Alaska.
