RANT...
Ok, yes, I frequent walmart a couple times a week. I usually stop by the sporting goods counter to check on the ammo availablility and prices when going to purchase more food stuff.

A couple weeks ago there was a nice, clean cut gentleman and his teenage son there looking at ammo. Babbling about how it wasn't the right stuff for their gun and was asking the clerk for help. The clerk was obviously no help. Not being able to take the stupidity any longer, I asked the guy what he was looking for. "I need some 22 low velocity lead ammo." Lead? I asked? Yes, we have an antique gun and It won't take the high velocity ammo and I don't want to shoot plated bullets in it. With limited stock on the shelf of anything really, about all the had was the normal 50 round packs of plated 22's. He started looking at the 22 magnum shells, these should work, they are smaller 36 grains... Sir, you don't want to use those unless your weapon is marked as using that caliber... well these are smaller though! You obviously don't know what you have or need. I gave up trying to explain it and walked away.

Just this weekend, same thing, stopped by the area to check on prices. A younger clean cut couple was there, trying to find some "bullets" and the clerk was not assisting properly. Some other redneck was trying to help, but he was pointing them toward high power rounds. They had just bought a "ruger rifle" at the pawn shop and were waiting on the background check which was 3 hours. They wanted bullets for it. They had no idea what they bought, other than it was a ruger rifle. He finally mentioned it was a 1022 or something like that. Reluctantly I pointed them towards the 22 long rifle shells. Assuming you didn't buy the Magnum version, these are the "bullets" you need. The redneck chimed in with "all I know is the ammo I need for my 3080 I have at home..." uh yeah dude.

what the ? is a 3080? I had to leave the area, I'm no gun expert, but are there that many people out there buying this stuff without a clue?

I'm a little scared of these people attempting to use these arms without any education about the equipment. Good news is that maybe the guns won't function with the wrong ammo...

maybe I need to get a job at walmart... do they give discounts on ammo to employees?
