    Default ??? About Reloads

A couple of years ago I bought some .223 reloads.

(Sorry, forgot to add these were done by an individual, not commercially)

I'm not too keen on firing them from all the horror stories about shooting others reloads. Is it better to sell them as components or what ?? From what I remember, it was only 200 or so rounds.

    Thanks for the input,
    Kyle

Shoot them. Dont expect stellar benchrest/rail gun accuracy though.

Many of my guns have never had a single round of factory ammo fired in them, and I still have all my fingers and toes.

Years ago when they were $129 per K I bought some Maine 55gr FMJ reloads from the ammunition store. They were a little underpowered clocking in @ 2850-2900 but were very accurate. I did pull one down and it had 23gr of what could have been WC844 or something similar to it or H335.

Looking back I should have bought much more. I did have a friend that bought some reloads from "Dads" a few months ago. 1/2 the rounds would not chamber in his ruger mini. there was no problem in returning them but he was not happy.

    commercial reloads or joe-blow reloads?

there was one or two commercial places that had a few lots with KB's.

I trust my own handloads. all done with a single stage press, and I've done a couple thousand..

    it's a tough judgement call.

do you have a scale? if they all weight the same, it would decrease your risk

    This.
I'll just count up what I have and put it in the 'Trading Post' as components only, not ready to plink with.

    Thanks guys,

I will shoot them why not first off .223 has much less chamber pressure than 5.56.

I go way past max load for .223 when loading for a 5.56 chamber.
