Dude, I feel for you. I hate back to school night as much as I hate Ikea. I made it made it through back to school night. Then, My 4th grader had his b-day on the first day of school. He told the teacher and long story short she accused him of lying. I had to call the principal and get it sraightened out. What is the world coming to?

I don't remember this stuff from when I was a kid. My parents knew exactly what I was doing in school (and how well I was or wasn't doing it) and attended regular PTA meetings.

Knowing who's who, is better than not recognizing a strange face, after "threats" at another school. I'd be more concerned with their left leaning curriculum, than a back to school event.

Oldest (17yo) is in Texas at Honor Academy, 12yo is in 9th grade at GOAL academy (online school), and in 7th grade volleyball at local public school... 10yo is in 6th grade at K12 online school (based out of Adams county, and my 7yo boy is home schooled this year- hasn't started real curriculum yet, but is doing lessons to get him warmed up...

The point is, BE INVOLVED! Kudos to you for enduring something you couldn't stand for your child's sake!

Just don't show it to them... Your children should be considered your greatest accomplishment.

Feel free to vent here all you need to, but make their upbringing and education a high priority...

Back to school was pretty cool this year. One Middle school, one High school, some hot teachers! TILF? I might have to schedule some parent teacher conferences a couple times this year.

Back to school night at my kid's school is awesome. It's not too crowded because a lot of the parents are in jail, and the ones that are there leave me alone because they don't speak English.
