Default Interesting ticker on the news.....

Just saw the ticker on "Good Morning Amerika":
"CDC reports that drug overdoses responsible for more deaths than homicides and automobile accidents."

Mmm, OK- so let's ban drugs.....oh, wait.
Curious if these were white on black drugs.......

How many schoolkids died yesterday due to OD's? 26 maybe?
    I don't hear an outcry.......

One would think that this should be more important than "Gun Violence".

    Just a thought........
The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...

I'd love to see that report if you have a link to it

NM here it is, press release from Feb:
    http://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/20...se_deaths.html

CDC’s analysis shows that 38,329 people died from a drug overdose in the United States in 2010, up from 37,004 deaths in 2009.
In 2010, nearly 60 percent of the drug overdose deaths (22,134) involved pharmaceutical drugs. Opioid analgesics, such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, and methadone, were involved in about 3 of every 4 pharmaceutical overdose deaths (16,651), confirming the predominant role opioid analgesics play in drug overdose deaths.

I know I'm insensitive, but I have a hard time caring about drug overdose victims... at least not by and large. If they're forced in to addiction or the overdose by no fault of their own, then of course I'm sympathetic, but if idiots want to knowingly consume poison, and they die because of it, I'm ok with that outcome.

But I agree, as we all know, the focus on firearms is woefully misplaced. Efforts to "save the children" need to go toward drug and sexual education if you ask me....

There's a ton of crap that should be more important than "gun violence" but those other things lend to the government's ability to control the population whereas firearms are a detriment to their control.

The gov already controls the pill industry, so if they can control the gun industry the same way they would have it made.

Bullying, drugs, prostitution, if you wanna save the kids these should be priorities. They lead to more suicides.
