    Default M16A1 lower

    Is M16A1 *lower the same as the ones today or different? If different which maker still make those?

    **Edit, I said upper in my original post....I meant to ask about lower.

    I think Arma Lite and Colt might still make some collector's A1 uppers. But as far as your standard black rifle stuff of today, we're talking about 16" and 14.5" barreled uppers that usually sport mid-length and carbine gas systems, respectively.

    Crap, I just realized I said upper in my original post... The lower is what confuse me, I thought M16A1 didn't have the ribs around the mag release?.

    Maybe some rare pre-ban models? I've only seen Colt's early AR-15 that look like original M16s.
