Well, I can't say much about our place in Texas, other than, I really fucking hate this town... There is lots of stuff I could go off on such as half of the town is non english speaking illegals, or the humidity, the bugs, string of bad luck we've had since getting her, or 15 year leap back in time it is like here... Our house apparently had a dog in it that had Parvo at some point, and our dog just happened to get it from the soil (it can lay dormant for years I guess). The thing is, he was up to date on his shots... He had beed sick for a few days now, and it really looked like he was getting better the last couple days which included being a little playful this morning (first time he's reallynhad energy since the beginning of this). Anyway, we left him to rest in the back area where we were keeping him. I had just got done checking on him, and he was fine, and alert, and as good as you could ask for a dog that was sick. Then, it couldn't have been 10 minutes later as I had just got off the phone with the cable company, I went back to be with him again, and as I entered the room, he started gasping for air. From when he began, to his last breath was maybe 30 seconds... It was hard to not be able to do anything for him, there just wasn't any time... I couldn't put him down, nothing... my wife heard him and came running in just to catch him taking his last breaths........ That was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, which was sit there and not be able to do anything. As I layed him down, all of this liquid came gushing out of his nose, and it was amazingly fowl. The vet here if anyone is wondering, is absolutely worthless, and was not helpful at all. This is a shit bag little town of 8000 people, half of whom couldn't even read this post... I hate this place.
I seriously can't remember the last time I cried before today... AJ, you were loved, and you will be missed.
Guys, remember to get your dogs booster shots for Parvo, especially those with Dobermans, and Rotties, as they are hit the hardest.
