A more interesting number is the number of private sales compared to total gun sales. Remember the rallying cry of "40% of gun sales are private sales"? For the month in question, only 2.9% of the sales were private sales. And no arrests were noted, so any blocked criminals are still out on the street.

The 40% number is part of their mantra. From everything I've found, those numbers are pre-Brady Bill. If they're really private sales, there aren't any statistics to pull these "40%" numbers from. These private sales last month are only the ones they know about. Illegal sales from one criminal to another aren't in anybodies statistics.

Because now it is freaking PITA to buy a gun from someone.

Last year is was cash on the barrel & deal done. Minimal time and can happen anywhere.
Now it is a 1 hour investment waiting for the ffl to have time then the check to clear. (In addition to finding said FFL and forced to meet there)

Wasn't Von Miller denied a CBI check due to a warrant for a traffic court non appearance? Isn't that part of the statistics they are throwing around? I'd like to see why they were denied and see how many were failure to appear in court warrants, or failure to pay child support.

It amazes me that these anti's who are foaming over these "successes" can't seem to grasp that if Thug A has a stolen gun he wants to sell, and Thug B has money/drugs/goods/whatever that Thug A will accept, they're not going to bother with no damn BGC! So that report contradicts another 9news report earlier this year that MOST of gun transactions in CO are out of sight, no BGC, and FTF.

Over 2 months since the law went into effect. No one who failed a background check has attacked me with a 15+ round magazine that was manufactured after 7/1/2013. Apparently the laws are working.
