Default Yamaha 4 stroke gurus I have an issue

Bought an 04 ttr225 to putz around on street legal which is a plus bike has been sitting since may so pulled the carb apart cleaned the varnish out new fuel got it running but when I was running around on it at wide open throttle it falls on its face almost feels like it has a rev limiter set really low rpms

the next bigger issue is when idling after I got it hot there was a horrible screech coming from the engine I know the sound... Heard it before 4 times right before a piston stuck on a Diesel engine during a dyno... Oil level was low topped it off pulled the oil pressure check port on the head and I am not getting oil pressure to the head squirted some oil into the cylinder and the oil hole. Motor quieted down quite a bit.

I am going to try a new oil and filter first if that does not work I am at a loss as to what the issue could be any ideas

Could be a plugged oil passage. Try the ole flush with diesel routine. As for high RPM problemput in a fresh plug.

Ive got an 07, we should putz around on the trails some day.

If it falls on it's face at high RPM/full throttle, it's probably going rich. Check to make sure the air filter is not restricted, check to make sure the main jet air bleed in the carb is not plugged, and check the main jet to make sure it is tight, and the correct size(130 is stock). If the restrictor is still in the exhaust, you may need to go down a couple of sizes to get it to pull cleanly to redline.

Thanks burbon going to soak it in fuel
The air filter is cleaned and freshly oiled may have been too fresh actually but my plug is a good tan color

Tfogg what do you think of the oil pressure thing

Make sure some dipshit didn't put the oil filter in backwards. That will kill the oil pressure. As far as the WOT bogging, my first guess would be to check the needle and make sure the dipshit that might have put the oil filter in backwards didn't screw with the clip position. WOT is only controlled by the main jet and the needle.

They don't make a ton of pressure, but you might want to pull the valve inspection cover and make sure there is oil getting to the top end. As Ray said, check to make sure the oil filter is oriented correctly, and the cover is clocked so the passage holes line up(hard to screw up, but check anyway). The oil pump gear is plastic in most of these, and can strip if the pump seizes or gets jammed with debris.

If there was varnish in the carb, I can guaranty that your jets are jammed up w crap. Especially the pilot jet. Just replace them. That way you know they are clean and good to go. Do an oil change and make dang sure to use motorcycle specific oil that has NO friction modifiers. It is a wet clutch system and normal motor oil will cause clutch problems.

Just drained the oil and pulled the oil filter it was covered in crap... Ran solvent through the passage that runs through the head and after some persuasion got some to come out of the supply hole so it might have been plugged. Sadly no one is open tomorrow unless tfog carries the filter???
