Running an Ad in the NY Times for Recent Recall... Who Wants to Pitch in?

I may set up a Paypal dealio for people to chip in. The cheapest it will be is 4 lines which is what you see. I can add more to it but it looks like it runs around $50 per line so we need to take that into consideration.

Isn't there some other section that would be a better fit? People go to the obituary section to read about the death of their loved ones.. not sure a political ad would fly. If you can show me examples of this section being used by other people in a similar fashion then i would be on board.

Most papers have a general section of some sort or an announcements section where lawyers and stuff put the mandatory public legal announcements and so on.

This is a good idea. I wasn't super keen on doing it in the obit section as that seems kind if disrespectful but makes a point. The idea is to do this online in an area that isn't highly scrutinized so that we can actually get it in there w/o them kicking it back. There is a general section I believe so I will have to look into this as well.

Don't use B-burg's name anywhere in it, even for registration. Use something generic...

It's technically ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ but I'm not sure they'll allow that. I cut and pasted someone else's suggestion so while I can't take credit for the typo I will certainly fix it before it goes to print. I was in such a hurry to get the ball rolling that I didn't spend too much time proof reading yet. Good catch though.

I agree that the idea here is to send a message. Just getting something on print instead of just passing mentions in another thread so that we can discuss and adjust.

Would the $256 be better spent via one of the organizations fighting to retain 2A rights instead of a 'nanny-nanny-boo-boo' ad that will do little other than energize the anti-2A crowd to turn up to the polls if a recall occurs in the future?

I get what you're saying but it's more of a message to assert that we're here and we're not going away easily. Might even drum up some more national attention to our cause and get the 'silent majority' a little more vocal. I'm tired of being the silent majority because it's giving the fewer squeaky wheels too much power to their voice and their concerns.

I can understand wanting to keep it cheap, but don't make it so cryptic that only we know what it means.

I agree and if we get enough people chipping in and contributing we can go several lines and put whatever message we want.

I grew up in Nebraska and was taught good sportsmanship. After a few decades of being a good sport in most aspects of life it seems quite obvious to me that those who gloat and bandstand are gaining momentum and following from the younger generation. Dignity and grace is what got us into this predicament to begin with while the other side is bringing on new supporters by the truck-load. I think we need to take this opportunity to hoist or colors and show that we're not backing down or going quietly in the night.

I'm in for a jab. But I thought the idea was to have a full page ad?
Count me if for some money. Just one question. Who do we want to see this ad? If its bloomberg why not put it the RINO section or married men seeking men section so we know he will read it?
And about that RINO thing. Is there a way to kick him out of the R party and force him to show his true self?
