Ok I had a good time so let me explain that this ghost town is private property. Anybody is welcome to vist but the owners ask that all you do is vist. NO hunting, fishing, camping and of course defacing the property. However you can go a couple hundred yards up or down stream and your back in national forest.
Crossins was a gold mining camp it opened in the 1880's and closed in the 1940's. The only way in or out back in the day was the narrow gauge rail road. Google it if you wish for more info and of course pics from back in the day.
Pickenup funny you ask about metal detecting I joined a forum about six months ago and have really thought about getting into it. I know who owns the property and could always ask. I know for a fact he will not allow hunting I already asked but who knows maybe metal detecting would be ok.
Here are the pics:
Good thing I did not need too use the restroom.
This is the mine entrance those bastards blew it shut or I could have stole some gold.
This pic came out blurry but it shows the mine behind one of the buildings.
Phil you best have some friggen dog biscuts next time!! The dog was not happy about this pic.
