In the 50+ years I've been here I don't recall ever seeing this much rain over this length of time. We get a lot of the all day soakers but two to three days of significant rains are not normal. I just dumped another 5" out of my rain gauge, I dumped 1-3/4" yesterday, that's almost 7" in 48 hours. And I live in Saudi Aurora as in dry desert.

What is it like in Highlands Ranch? My son is supposed to have a football game this evening.

27J just sent out a notification district wide that all after school activities have been cancelled.

For any parents that have kiddos in 27J,, here is what they sent in case you didn't get it:

    Good afternoon 27J parents,
This is a district-wide message from School District 27J. First, we want you to know your students are safe and learning. We have chosen to cancel all after-school activities for today, Sept. 12. This includes athletic events and practices as well as parent teacher conferences. Afternoon kindergarten and pre-school will remain on normal schedules. After-school care programs will also maintain normal hours. If road closures impact bus transportation routes this afternoon and delay student drop-off, the 27J transportation department will communicate directly with families of impacted riders. We will continue to monitor any new developments. The safety of your student remains our first priority.
    Thank you,
    School District 27J

Lots of flooding on the West side of the Springs too.

Just an FYI to anyone impacted by the floods. If you have livestock you need to relocate PM me. I have 40 acres of pasture and I am more than willing to help.

Good luck to all impacted by this.
