    Default Neck sizing question

So I've got a bunch of .308 and '06 brass problem is I currently have a .243 and .270 win. To utilize this brass I would like to neck it down in a fl die , trim, and then the first reload shoot it at a min charge. Anyone have experience with this and have any pointers?

Just run them through a fl die, chances are they will be a little short but still good to go with no fire forming. You might want to see if any one would want to trade brass with you because you are going to get less case life out of your converted cases.

I realize the case life wont be as good. I am just looking at reloading on a budget and I would like to utilize a bunch of brass I currenlty have. The .308 I may leave as is since I have a .308 99 savage I load for but it isn&#39;t here and I have roughly 300 tumbled and deprimed pieces sitting here. Which is more than I plan on loading for that gun. Just use it for a hunting rifle so I am comfortable with 50-100 rounds loaded up for it. But the .243 is new to me ( one I refinished the stock on and did a thread on) and would like to start to load for it but new brass for it is scarce right now.</p>

I've got about a dozen pieces of 243 brass in my Misc range pickup bag you can have, as I have no real use for it.

Check the neck thickness, if it gets too thick it will not chamber. Just remember your reinventing the wheel, so you are going to run into problems and not get a serviceable case every pull of the handle.
