Went to Hawaii on vacation. Just got a call from someone staying at my house in Parker - apparently the basement has now flooded. Don't know how bad.. Blah. Can't do anything about it until I get home later next week.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

So I was standing in Home Depot tonight asking a guy about if I should buy a stud finder or not. He took a call and I kept hearing him telling the dude on the phone "No, we're totally out, the shelves are bare. Well there won't be any trucks coming in at night." He gets off the phone and I ask if the caller was asking for sump pumps. He says, "Yeah." I tell him, "Dude, you guys have about 200 of them right in the front of the store in front of the garden center." He says, "What really? No wonder they aren't on the shelves."

Would anyone know where to get those long sand bag deals that you would see in a drainage channel? Id like to have a few to keep on my porch.

If they are not available shredded paper in pillow cases or any kind of porous sack works. A lot of liquid mitigation disposable barriers, are stuffed with shredded paper. We use them on oil spills, along with kitty litter.

Just got home. Been at the shop since 7am. Got most of the silt out, 2" after the water deained. Still along way to go. Gonna be a long week!

We got nailed, no doubt about it. But there are still folks way worse off than me.

Everyone involved, good luck, be safe, and God bless.
