    I lucked out ... had just had new sod put in over Labor Day weekend and it was starting to dry out on me (stupid watering restrictions -- didn't know about exceptions for new sod) just as the rains hit. Now the browning patches are recovering and I need to start thinking about mowing.

    It's going to be a nasty winter! If you don't own a generator, I would highly recommend you pick one up.

    Actually, I think 12 feet of snow would have been more preferable. It would melt more slowly, and thus wouldn't totally ruin all the roads and bridges.
