I bought a suppressor under my LLC. I started it before the trust trend started and since I started just for NFA stuff. I should look it up but I don't remember what form I filed.
Why are some of you guys writing "forums"? I'm missing something there. I bet its a good joke...

Dumb question - when buying one does someone pay for the suppressor first and wait or pay once the form is returned many moons later?
I bought it first then went back later to do the paperwork and pay the tax. They are holding onto it until the paperwork comes back.Originally Posted by Madeinhb

You pay Dealer for the suppressor, file the Form 4 and pay the $200 Tax to the ATF when you send in the paperwork. The only thing you leave with is a purchase receipt for your suppressor.
Just called the ATF for a status check on my form 4. It was approved on 1/11. Waiting for the stamp now. Here is the full timeline:
22-Apr-16 Purchase
23-Apr-16 Mail Date
2-May-16 ATF Debit Date
11-Jan-17 Approval Date
About 8.5 months of processing time.
Stamp arrived. Picking up tomorrow.
May 2016 form 4s starting to come back now.
