    He was another crazy F-er
It's time to reopen the Mental Institutions, instead of drugging these bastards up and turning them loose on society.

    From: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...09-17-08-03-32

WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. law enforcement officials are telling The Associated Press that the Navy contractor identified as the gunman in the mass shootings at the Washington Navy Yard had been suffering a host of serious mental issues, including paranoia and a sleep disorder. He also had been hearing voices in his head, the officials said.

Aaron Alexis, 34, had been treated since August by the Veterans Administration for his mental problems, the officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the criminal investigation in the case was continuing. The Navy had not declared him mentally unfit, which would have rescinded a security clearance that Alexis had from his earlier time in the Navy Reserves.

Family members told investigators that Alexis was being treated for his mental issues.

Remind me again how mandatory background checks are supposed to stop these people? We can't even stop them when the .gov knows all about them. They had knowledge that this guy had mental issues, they had knowledge about the Tsarnaev brothers, but law-abiding gun owners are the real issue.

We have malfeasance at all levels of the government, we have a government sending guns to drug cartels, we have a government arming al-Qaeda associated "opposition forces" all over the world, but I'm somehow a problem because I like guns.

Didn't use an AR, Never Had an AR....

Only Pistols ( both likely taken from victims ...confirmed one at least that way) and Shotgun?

but but but I saw at least half a dozen articles and one congresswoman tell me about how bad AR's are and how all mass shootings use them last night ...

Proof the Anti's don't care about facts... only about attacking gun rights.

Confirmed, no AR, just a shotgun he put together in the bathroom. When can the victims and their families sue the security company that was supposed to be protecting them since they were disarmed while they let a crazy gunman in the complex? What about whoever is doing these background checks? I think everyone should get to sue them since they failed so hard on this one.

"It is believed, the official said, that Alexis began firing indiscriminately on the people below with the law enforcement-style shotgun."

Jesus, do they have to make everything sound like it was illegal to own or it was military stuff....

Some are now reporting that it was a Remington 870.
However, I have not found a single witness statement regarding a pump-action shotgun. Seems odd.
