I have a stack of coolers for bug out. Tough. Useful. Handle lots of weight. Fit better in the truck bed and you can stack on top if it if you have time. Same reasons as you basically.

Nice. A bug out rolling cooler sounds good. Would be easier to transport and help keep parishable food fresh longer...
Highlights include (60) Wise Company meals, a weeks supply of Coast Guard water packs for each member, energy bars, hard candy, portable propane burner with (4) bottles, additional fire making items, cooking and eating utensils, first aid kit, chem lights, (200+) rounds of ammo for my various guns, water purifiers, portable water containers, Swiss Army knife, (the really big one), solar charger, GPS, FRS radios, batteries, Red Cross emergency solar/crank radio, travel fishing kit, small animal snares, pocket saw, machete, large folding knifes, sling shot with ammo, toliet paper, toiletries, silver coins for trading, emergency blankets, duct tape, para cord, caffeine tablets, and other goodies. Enough items to get things going, and other items to keep them going!
I keep the old bug out bag on top of it, so I can load it up quickly with clothing, additional ammo, canned food, and whatever else depending on how much time I have.
I'm from the islands, Peter. I could probably surf it in if I needed to!
