IR laser info
I've been looking around for info on selling one to a civilian and can't come up with any definitive answers. I'll call manufacturer Mon. but wonder if any body has knowledge about this. I bought one while on Active duty and would like to know the rules/laws of reselling it. Its just so vague the info I have found.

COAR15 Night Crew - Crew Lead
I've just remembered seeing a whole bunch of 'em at the gun show... so I think you can list them for sale...

good to know, but I'll contact the manufacturer to make sure. It was a hasstle to get this thing and a bit of a "knee jerk" purchase.

You can sell to whomever you choose it just can not be exported. Most if not all manufacturers will not sell to non LEO Military but you have no restrictions.

What is it a PAQ, a DBAL?

It's an ITAR (International Trade Agreement Restrictions) controlled item. To be on the safe side I wouldn't sell it to ANY foreign national regardless of their status or location, and it cannot be exported (sent to an address outside the US). You can probably sell it to a civilian US citizen (born or naturalized), but a sale to Mil or LE is probably safer. Some states have weird laws concerning this material, body armor, gyros, sensors, cameras, etc.
Hope this helps.
edited for clarification.

From what I understand, it is just like the 5.7 ammo. The manufacturer makes the decision to not sell to anyone but LEO or military, but there are no real restrictions on who you can sell it to. If you are looking for a buyer, let me know, as I bet I can scrounge up a few in one day's time.

Dumb question but I know what I paid for it and I can see not only from first hand knowledge but from the man. website how hard it is to purchase minus LE and MIL personnel what to price something like this for. What I'm getting at is should I sell for more than MSRP to interested parties? I know potential buyers want the best deal but what would you all put it up for? What I paid for it or increased price do to purchaser restrictions. Be honest with input,it will help me out. Also mine is like new. No abuse with all accessories.

IR laser emitters are common and available
http://www.matchstickglobal.com/prod...b361f0434650d3
for instance.
All IR lasers are is a regular laser with a different diode. They are no harder to get than the NV equipment needed to see them.
Surefire only sells to LE and gov, but that's an internal policy - not the law.
ITAR? If it doesn't go outside the USA, so what?
They guy who has the money to have a good NV scope, is going to have the money and brains to figure out how to mount an IR laser.
