    Keep but I'd go beyond using soap to wash the outside and use a dilute bleach. That water was not clean and the buckets especially have trap areas for gunk under the lids.

    The issue with using bleach, unless you have the correct water - bleach ratio. You are not getting it disinfected. A good pre-mixed kitchen disinfectant, like Lysol kitchen anti -bacterial, works. That and ensuring all surfaces are dry, before putting them back in storage.
