Wireless versus wired actually does make a difference.

I had 100 Mbps via Comcast and on my 5 Ghz wireless N network, would only get around 50. Plugging directly into the router yielded around 90 Mbps. I ended up just dropping my speed to 50 Mbps because it wasn't feasible for me to be wired all the time.

at a certain point yes the internet speed will be higher then the wireless links speed..

    N has a theoretical limit of 300Mbps ...

Mine personally shows my link running at that speed.

Tho that may be dubious . but again for me . I get no difference between wired and wireless speeds when testing my internet speeds. on the internal network I do as all of my stuff is gigabit ethernet

Also if you are gonna run a speed test, useing speed test.net will give false speeds due to the over loading of their site a lot of time, if you use speed test.comcast net it will use the same servers (comcasts) but it wont be effected by their site traffic.

Those have been pretty good, it is docs is 3 so it will channel bond. Are you in a house or apt? Having a tech come out normally wouldn't charge you, with that modem my guess would be either a damaged cable coming up to the house or cables in the house. Any problems can let ingress in which will build up and slow down speeds eventually leading to needing to reset the modem. If I was closer I would come by, but I would definitely have it checked out. The cable outside is Comcast's responsibility the cable inside is yours, but like I said normally unless the tech is pretty anal unless you modified or screwed something up I wouldn't charge.

Ok, do you have a docis 3.0 modem? If you don't, u ain't getting the speed. I would replace the modem and have one you can borrow to test out. PM me if u need it for a test. When I was having issues, that was the solve all.
