I recognize that everyones tastes are a little different and what I find excellent someone else may find distasteful. This is why some of us can't imagine certain restaurants thriving.

Personally, I've been in both Smash Burger & Crave and just couldn't justify spending the money they wanted for a burger. While I've eaten at Red Robin several times, I think their burgers are just okay too - but I love their endless fries (yum). Here in Colo Spr, my favorite burgers come from Freddies & Drifters (very similar style burgers). I haven't had a burger from anyplace in a long time that I thought was worthy of saying "oh man, that was awesome!"
Without question, every $25 room service burger I've ever had was awesome.

    It has to be right?

It always tastes best when someone else is paying for it.

Kroll's in Green Bay, WI. Right across from Lambeau Field. There's one on the east side that is apparently serving a little better and cheaper menu.

They have a hard Kaiser Roll burger with a slab o butter on that will curl your toes. Nothing super special about the meat, but they're yummy.

Not so bad on the Chicken Booyah and you can get Lake Perch there any day of the week.

Never had In N Out, but a guy in my office that's from CA seems like he would shave and hump a moose to get one located in his backyard.

My first In-n-Out was in the Las Vegas location and it sucked balls. Super crowded with thugs and other questionable people. Burgers were "meh". Then, my wife won a radio contest that flew us out to L.A. to have lunch at the original In-n-Out location. It was awesome. Though it wasn't a fair comparison to the Vegas store as this meeting was a promotional gig and the Execute VP of Marketing greeted and served us whatever we wanted. I have heard from others that the Vegas location does suck.

I love in n out. I'm originally from CA and when I visit, I stop. Are they the best burger - no. But the are fresher than most FF places. Nothing is frozen at I&O. And for the price- can't go wrong. If I want a 10 dollar burger I'll go to a restaurant. If I want a 3-4 dollar burger, I'll take I&O any day.

The Vegas I&O's suck. Not sure why but they do. At least the one across the freeway from NYNY. There are other locations less crowded and better but have to drive.

Jim's Burger Haven is pretty close to the What-a-Burger style of burger. I may have to make a "road trip" to Arvada.

I live right near Jim's and eat there regularly. Where is the one in Arvada? I only know of the one at 78th and Sheridan and then the one in Thornton.

Jim's was probably the worst place I've been to...and that's not even factoring the place is a dump. I think I'd rather eat at Culvers.
