I first went in in 1984
I got out in 2007
It got exponentially worse from the time I went in to when I got out.
I could not believe the number of self serving a-holes I encountered. Everyone in a position of "power" or "decision making" (~) is out to throw someone else under the bus to save their ass.
I am truly amazed at their ability to get anything accomplished given the obstacles in the way.
this is not to say that there are not people serving that are doing their job or are not dedicated. The number of people you can trust is not as high as you might expect.
I could go on, but I'm here at work, in an already PO'd mood.. maybe I'll come back later with more of my experience.
(and yes, every discharge I ever received was Honorable and I have many GCM's, amongst others)

Good to know! I allways laughed at riot drills. ...step shove ,step shove, blah blah blah. Such a waste of time. At the RNC last year...now that looked like good fun riot control. Wish I trained to squash libtards like they did.
And did anyone look at some of the post left at the bottom. What disrespect. You don't have to respect the man but the uniform is good, right??? I'm glad any coments like some of those would not make it here.

This site had the story posted about how the U.S. Marines (and possibly Army) were performing Urban Training last June in Indianapolis to "prepare the troops to deploy into the desert".
Sound fishy to you? Me too.
There are more and more stories of this type of training occuring all across the U.S. In fact, either Aurora or Arvada, CO (can't recall which, but either way it's a Denver suburb) will see this occuring very soon with Army National Guard troops. The Nat Grd is looking for public "volunteers" to allow the troops to detain, arrest, and search persons/vehicles/homes for this training to make it more effective.
This training does four things.
1) The troops learn how to perform martial law enforcement duties in AMERICAN urban environments.
2) The troops get used to performing actions against other Americans.
3) Citizens get de-sensitized to seeing the presence of these troops in their neighborhoods which can forestall or reduce rioting/protesting should they be put in place for real.
4) Citizens are de-sensitized to seeing these domestic police actions being performed by our military.
I have personally had my hands tied with the Posse Comitatus Act restriction when I dealt with the public when I "played cop" for the Air Force. And rightly so.
Sadly, the troops are required to obey all LAWFUL orders. Currently, it isn't lawful for U.S. troops to perform law enforcement activities against non-military U.S. citizens (they can detain though). How long do you think it will take to make these actions LAWFUL?
Many say I'm just paranoid and "it can't happen here". Read your history books. The same things occured in Germany under an Austrian named Adolph Hitler!
Goggle John Warner Defense Act, Posse Comitatus Act is killed by the President declaring a State of emergency. I posted this some time last year and was laughed at. This is real. The Constitution is DEAD.
