    The Colorado Summit Criterion: For a summit to be a ranked summit, it must have at least 300 feet of prominence. A summit's prominence is its rise above the highest saddle connecting the summit to higher ground. That highest saddle is called the prominence saddle.

    There are 53 official 14ers. There are 6 other peaks over 14K but do not fit the CO definition of an individual peak.
